In constant search for the New York-ish type coffee house in the metro has always been on my bucket lists. Here in Manila, coffee shops are everywhere and the business has become quite competitive as time shifts ranging from the prices, menus, interior designs and advertisements through social medias generating more customers.
While on our way to our apartment in Cebu, looking on the windows of the van that carried us came this cafe around the boulevard. I immediately thought, I'm never leaving Cebu without visiting the place.
I regret not visiting the place during day time, ahh the lighting should have been awesome but nevertheless the place screams cozy and minimal. We were the only customers that night. I tagged along my grade schooler cousins and my sister. Actually, we just sneaked out because everyone was at my cousin's bachelorette party, and the two minors were bored so I bribed them by paying the fair en route to the cafe and on the way home lol!
The owner which happens to be there, Ms. Trixie Young, was very accommodating enough to answer all my queries. I just hope that she doesn't find me pesky though lol. So when I asked her what's behind the name of the place she willingly answered and as far as I can remember, "Umber" is a shade of brown (I just forgot why 32 hehe).
The inspiration from the interior was inspired from coffee shops which she used to visit during her travels. And true enough, the vibe was exactly what I was expecting the moment I saw it on the first day. Cozy, minimal, relaxing! The Carrie Bradshaw in me has awakened and for a moment I felt like I was in New York!
So if you're planning to visit Cebu, add this on your travel itinerary! 32 Umber is at The Forum, 6000, Archbishop Reyes Avenue, Cebu City, Cebu!
